Aoibhinn, age six, lives with Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis and her wish was to have a Maltese Puppy.
Louise, our wishgranter researched the IKC Breeders Association and located a breeder who was willing to meet Aoibhinn and her family to see if they were suitable candidates to own a puppy!
After both the family and the breeder had met – the breeder agreed that Aoibhinn could have a puppy whom she named Bella.
The family came to Dublin, overnighted in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire and arrived to the Make-A-Wish offices to collect Bella and have some lunch. The Boardroom was decked out with balloons and all sorts of goodies for Aoibhinn, her two sisters and her parents.
Bella was definitely the star of the show, thankfully the breeder also brought her brother so she didn’t get too nervous! Aoibhinn rarely let Bella out of her hands and when they left together, Aoibhinn was simply beaming.
“We want to say a massive thank you for everything that you have done for Aoibhinn. I’ve never seen her so happy and so excited. Last year was extremely challenging for Aoibhinn and Bella is definitely the light at the end of the tunnel for her. She still has challenges ahead but having Bella will hopefully make things easier” – Aoibhinn’s Mum
